Attractions and Places to Visit in Freiburg Im Breisgau

One of the largest cities in the country, Freiburg is popular among fans of excursions and those interested in history. Its main attraction is the scenic Freiburg Cathedral, whose construction has begun in the 13th century. The official opening of the cathedral took place only 300 years later. It has miraculously managed to survive during the Second World War. The height of the main tower of the Cathedral is 116 meters. Many experts in ancient architecture agree that it is one of the most beautiful towers in the world. Freiburg is sure to appeal to those who can’t imagine the rest without restaurants. Another interesting architectural object is the historic trading house built in the second half of the 14th century. There are a lot of old buildings in the city; one of the most spectacular manors is Colombischlossle. The beautiful villa was built in the mid19th century and is made in a rather unusual architectural style.
